HarryKindergarten

The second set of videos I want to tell you about I found on youtube. HarryKindergarten has made some of the most amazing videos ever!!! His videos range from transitions, to math, science, reading, social studies, even social skills like tattling and so much more. I also love that he uses some of the artists that I already use in the classroom. On his page he even says "My music is heavily influenced by Jack Hartmann. If you like Dr. Jean, Shari Sloane, Rhonda Crigger, Greg and Steve, or Mark D. Pencil, you might enjoy HarryKindergarten!" He is the one that got me hooked on youtube and hooked on finding more videos for use in my classroom. I have shared his videos with everyone at my school and they have been a big hit with us all! I couldn't decide which videos to share here so I thought I would share some of my class favorites from last year. These videos were requested DAILY by my class (I even got tears one time when I said we didn't have time!!!).

Here is his Super "E"!!!!! video teaching silent E. (Song by Mark D. Pencil)

Vowel Bat by Shari Sloane is an absolute must have for the classroom!!! I believe this video is the reason my kids learned the vowels so quickly this past year.

Here is one of the many math videos of his. Exercise and count by 5's by Jack Hartmann.

You can check out his youtube page here or like him on facebook here. He's in the process of creating a website where you will soon be able to purchase all his wonderful and amazing songs.

Have Fun Teaching

I love technology!!! Towards the middle of last school year I found a ton of song/videos that the kids absolutely loved. I was really excited to start this year off with those videos. I can't believe how, once again, the kids have fallen in love with them. I thought I would start sharing some of them with you.

The first is a series from Have Fun Teaching. I will admit that when I first found one of the letter videos I thought "this is too repetitive and the kids will get board, but I'll try it anyway". OMG was I wrong. Not only did the kids love them, but I found myself addicted to them as well. The music is so catchy and the kids pick up the words so quickly because of the repetitiveness of the songs. Please go check them out!!!

Here is the alphabet video. It goes over letter identification and sounds!

Our county teaches the letters out of order. Our first letter is Mm. Here is that video.

Have Fun Teaching just started making sight word videos too. I'm sure the kids are going to love these as well. Here is the video for the sight word the.

Hope you all enjoy them as much as we do!!!  You can visit the website here,  the youtube page here, the blog here, or like the facebook page here.
